Invincible summer |||

The full moon

Waking, full of you
under the moon
the full moon
swollen with haloes

your face
swims towards me
out of the pillowed shoals.

Waking, and waking again
to your back, your shoulders
my arms are full of your roundness
constant as the sea’s sacrifice
upon the beach

each sand grain placed precisely
for maximum effect.
